Chester E. Watroba, Jr.

North Adams- Chester E. Watroba, Jr., 57, of Montague Center died Thursday 11/30/17 at the home after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.  He was born in Greenfield on November 10, 1960, the son of Chester and Marilyn (Warsawski) Watroba. Chet attended Turners Falls High School before leaving to work at Rockledge Farm. Chet was also a member of the Local Laborers Union 956. From a young age,  Chet was an accomplished horse trainer working in the Thoroughbred and Show Horse industry. He had a great love of horses, and cared for many horses on the family farm.  He could regularly be seen on the farm haying the fields, fixing the corals and training the horses. This love was passed on to his daughter, and his grandchildren, and continues on.  In addition to his love of horses, Chet was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors.  Chet adored his daughter Danielle, loved his grandchildren, and family was always in his heart.

Among his survivors, Chet leaves a daughter, Danielle Griffin and her husband  Robert  of South Deerfield; five grandchildren, Savannah, Sadie, Benjamin, Matthew and James; his mother, Marilyn Watroba of Montague; his companion of sixteen years, Jeanne Lapine;  nine siblings, Paul, John, Jeffrey, Nancy, Peter and his wife Kathy Watroba, Marilyn Leonard and her husband Scott, Robert and his wife Zonia, Stephanie and Hope Watroba; and many nieces and nephews.

Chet was predeceased by his father, Chester, Sr. on June 16, 2012 and a brother, Todd Watroba on September 10, 2004.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 12/6 at 10am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.  Burial will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Turners Falls.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
