Greenfield- Charlotte A. (Okula) Baker, 71, of Overland Road died Monday 10/2/17 at home.  She was born in Greenfield on April 15, 1946, the daughter of Frank L. “Zip” and Anna (Gretchel) Okula.  Charlotte attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1964.  She continued her education and graduated from Lasell Junior College with an Associate’s Degree in Teaching.

On December 13, 1969, Charlotte married David M. Baker.  They located to Gainsville, FL where David attended the University of Florida and Charlotte worked at the University Law Library. After David graduated they moved to Deer Lodge, Montana where they had two boys, Jesse Lee and David Lee.  Besides raising two boys in Montana, Charlotte was a teacher’s aide and    taught CCD classes at the Catholic Church.  They moved to Greenfield in 1986.  

Charlotte was a clerk at the Baker Office Supply in Greenfield for several years before her retirement.  Prior to that, she worked at the Greenfield Public Library for ten years and the Old Country Store for a year.

She enjoyed gardening, walking and reading.

Besides her beloved husband of 47 years, David, Charlotte leaves two sons, Jesse Lee Baker and his wife Jennifer of Ware, MA and David Lee Baker of Mansfield, OH; a granddaughter, Kailey; and several aunts and uncles.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday 10/10 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal Street, Greenfield with the Rev. Timothy Campoli officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.

A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 8:45-9:45am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.
