Caroline E. (Walker) Galipault

Greenfield- Caroline E. (Walker) Galipault, 87, of Countryside died Monday 8/28/17 at home.  She was born in Syracuse, NY on August 24, 1930, the daughter of Robert and Marian Robeson Walker.  She attended local schools in Syracuse and was a graduate of Nottingham High School. 

Caroline was the beloved mother of seven children. Throughout her life, Caroline's artistic talent was visible in her sewing, crafts, and folk art, which adorns the homes of loved ones. Her artwork was also exhibited through the Deerfield Valley Art Association. 

Among her survivors, Caroline leaves her sisters Alice McDaniel and Frances Angarano, and brother Robert Walker. She leaves sons, James Jr. of Greenfield, William and his wife Lisa of Placentia, CA and Richard and his wife Karen of Trinity, FL; daughters, Joanne Galipault of New Port Richey, FL, Catherine Sokolosky and her husband Sam of Shelburne, MA, Susan Mattei and her husband Joe of Shelburne Falls, MA and Elizabeth Burden of Greenfield; grandchildren and step grandchildren, Alison, Emily and Laura Sokolosky; Meredith, Laurel and Shannon Galipault; Caitlin and Tara Galipault; Marisa McCutchen, Christopher, Anthony and Anna Mattei; and Caroline and Thomas Burden.  Caroline also leaves nine great grandchildren.  

She was predeceased by her husband James Galipault, Sr. on February 20, 2012. She was also predeceased by brothers Peter and Richard Walker.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 9/2 at 10am at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main Street, Greenfield with the Rev. Timothy Campoli officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.  

There will be no calling hours.
