Greenfield----Bruce D. Wallace,78, of Allen St. died Thursday (6-22-17) at Poet’s Seat Health Care Center.

He was born in Greenfield Jan 9, 1939 the son of Douglas and Darlene (Doe) Wallace.

Bruce attended Greenfield schools and was a graduate of GHS class of 1957. After high school Bruce enlisted into the United States Air force attaining the rank of A2C. He spent 3 years in England and returned in 1962 to marry Jeannette “Tootsie” Chevalier.

He enjoyed golfing and had 2 hole in ones in his lifetime. Bruce also enjoyed dancing, camping, canoeing, mountain climbing and was a huge New England sports fan.

Bruce was lead mechanic for GMTA for many years retiring in2002. Previously he had worked for Don Lorenz.

He leaves his wife of 55 years “Tootsie”, his daughter Kelly Wallace (Len Adams) all of Greenfield, his son Jason Wallace (Joanne) of Gill and his grandchildren Julia and Jake. Bruce also leaves his sisters, Shiela Pelitier of Montague, Carol Moltenbrey of Turners Falls, Joanie Webster of Florida and Margo Vidrine of Gill and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce was predeceased by a son Michael Wallace in 2013 and a sister Pamela Kemp in 2003.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday July 8th from noon until 5pm at the Loyal Order of Moose 20 School St. Greenfield.

The family would like thank the Poet’s Seat Health Care for their care.

There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.   In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association 264 Cottage St. Springfield, MA 01104 or to Hospice of Franklin County 329 Conway St. Greenfield, MA 01301.           

Arrangements are under the direction of Kostanski funeral Home.
