Greenfield-----Anne “Stella” S. (Bonk) Kurkoski, 94, of 15 Meridian St., The Arbors died Monday (9-4-17) at home.                                          .

She was born in Conway January 6, 1923 the daughter of Anthony and Amelia (Krzykowski) Bonk.

At the age of 3 her family moved to Greenfield. She attended public schools and was a graduate of Greenfield High School the Class of 1940.

Stella was employed by New England Telephone for 30 1/2 years retiring in 1980.

She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church.

She was a member of the Rosary Society of Holy Trinity Church, a member of the B.O.O.W. of Franklin Medical Center, and the Telephone Pioneer’s of America. She was President of that organization from 1985-1987 and Life Member Representative of the Wm. J. Devine Chapter, Telephone Pioneers from 1987-1989.

Stella enjoyed golfing, bowling, flower gardening, traveling, needlework and crafts.

She was predeceased by her husband Edwin V. Kurkoski of 49 years on Feb. 12, 1994.

She leaves her two sons: Edwin C. and his wife Karen of Plymouth ,MA and Stephen M. and his wife Janice of Warwick, MA, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a sister, Helen Pekenia of South Harwich, MA.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Thursday (9-7-17) at 10am at Holy Trinity Church followed by burial in Howland Cemetery in Conway. A calling time will be from 8:30-9:30 am at Kostanski Funeral Home 220 Federal St. Greenfield.
