Turners Falls- Edward F. Treml, Jr., 80, formerly of Turners Falls, died Monday 1/16/12 at the Buckley Health Care Center in Greenfield. He was born on April 26, 1931 the son of Edward F. and Nellie (Meyer) Treml, Sr.

Edward attended local schools in Turners Falls, and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School Class of 1948. He attended Hampton College of Pharmacy in Willimansett, MA where he graduated in 1952. He was a pharmacist and co-owner of Orange Drug for 25 years until he sold the business in 1977. Ed was then employed at Brooks Pharmacy in Winchendon, MA until 1997.

He was a resident of Turners Falls most of his life. Ed was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church and a member of the Turners Falls Athletic Club.

He was an avid sports fan, and a basketball referee for 20 years. Ed enjoyed harness racing and owned harness horses.

Among his survivors, Ed leaves his wife of 56 years, the former Elizabeth "Betty" Earley, and several nieces and nephews.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 1/20 at 10am in Our Lady of Peace Church with the Rev. Stanley J. Aksamit, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

A calling hour will be held Friday morning from 8:45 to 9:45 at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.
