Greenfield- Joan (Daley) Killeen, 82, of Country Club Road, died Friday (1/27/12) at the Poet's Seat Health Care Facility in Greenfield. Born in Fall River, MA on March 10, 1929, Joan was the daughter of John and Marie (Morange) Daley. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, William C. Killeen, who passed away in 1995.

Joan attended Holy Trinity School and was a Greenfield High School graduate, class of 1946. Joan was a long time member of both Blessed Sacrament and Holy Trinity Churches.

Joan spent her early adult years as a stay-at-home mom caring for and enjoying her six children. They were the light of her life. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and the stories and laughter went on for hours. Two of her sons were veterans of the Viet Nam war. After raising her children, Joan was employed by the New England Telephone Company as an operator and worked for twenty years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Besides enjoying her family she and Bill spent years traveling around the country and the Caribbean. She was an avid Boston sports fan and was particularly proud of her grandson, Sean, who was a member of the Boston Red Sox organization. In the last four years she was blessed with the addition of eight great -grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by her son William C. Jr. in 2002 and a daughter in-law Jody Ryan Killeen in 2008. Among her survivors, Joan leaves three sons, John W. and his wife Barbara of Bernardston, Terrence M. and his wife Diane of Greenfield and James E. of Greenfield, two daughters, Katherine A. Killeen of Greenfield and Karen M. Killeen of Turners Falls, ten grandchildren, Susan Osowski, Carolyn Killeen Tarpey, Laurie Osowski O'Connor, Jacquelyn Killeen Timmins, Matthew, Ryan, Andrew, Patrick, Meredith and Sean Killeen, and eight great- grandchildren, Jackson, Hayden, Ava, Nieve, Teagan, Emma, Noah, and Kira.

Funeral Services will be held on Wed. (2/1) at 9:15 from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main St., with the Monsignor Ronald G. Yargeau pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday (1/31) at 6-8pm at the funeral home.
