Montague- Althea L. (Emond) Dawson, 62, of Turners Falls Road, died Thursday 1/19/12 at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Montague on February 28, 1949, the daughter of Arthur and Laurette Emond.

Althea attended local schools in Montague, and was a seam stitcher at Lesnow and J.H. Smith for many years.

She loved playing bingo, all cards and going to the casino, collecting elephants and spending time with grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Emond, Norman Emond, and Sylvia Miller .

Althea leaves her husband of 44 years, Clinton Dawson, two sons, Douglas A. and Clinton J ., both of Montague, a daughter, Patricia L. Dickinson of Lake Pleasant, her siblings, Irene Demers and husband Edmund of Turners Falls, Theresa Emond of Indian Orchard, Jeannine Jones and husband Winston of Opp, Alabama, Claire York and husband Rodney of Montague, Lester Emond and wife Linda of Myrtle Beach S.Carolina, Paul Ostendorf and his wife Betty of Oklahoma , John Emond and his wife Christine of Greenfield, Robert Emond and his wife Linda of Lake Pleasant, Gary Emond of Turners Falls ,four grandchildren Tabitha Dawson , Jennifer Dawson , Julia Dickinson and Hayven Dawson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Friday (1/27) at 6pm at Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.

Calling hours will be on Friday from 4pm-6pm at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
