GREENFIELD -- Michael David Dufraine, 51, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family members, Richard Dufraine and Joanne Brown.

He attended Greenfield schools and lived most of his life in Greenfield. He enjoyed his travels to Montreal, Canada, and stayed for a short time in Boston and Hartford, Conn.

Michael last worked at Artspace until his illness in 2008.

He enjoyed arts and crafts and found relaxation in his drawings. He especially enjoyed spending time with his favorite cat, Trooper.

Michael will be sadly missed by his family who attended to his needs this last year while he went through his cancer treatments. We will always remember Michael as someone who never complained and only wanted the simple things in life.

He is survived by his mother, Janet Dufraine and her companion Kerm Hoar of Turners Falls; brothers, Richard Dufraine of Greenfield and Peter Dufraine of Savannah, Ga., and his sister, Joanne Brown and brother-in-law Douglas of Greenfield; nephew, Frank Dufraine of Greenfield, and nieces, Beth Kilgour and husband Jason of Greenfield and Danielle McCain and husband Robert of Hickham AFB, Hawaii, and five grandnieces, Katie Larange, MaKenzie Kilgour of Greenfield and Ariana, Abigael and Autumn McCain of Hawaii and two grandnephews, Shane Kilgour of Greenfield and Robie McCain of Hawaii.

A memorial Mass will be held Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Timothy Campoli, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St, Suite 2, Greenfield, MA 01301
